Race your names: horse, dog, bird & turtle race picker
Can't decide? Make the names race. Every name on your list gets its own lane and runner, a horse, a greyhound, a bird or a turtle, and the first one across the finish line wins. A random picker with a starting gun, a live leaderboard and a photo finish.
Four races to choose from
🏇 Horse race
Jockeys in lane colours burst out of the starting gate in front of a packed grandstand. The classic choice for raffles and big announcements.
🐕 Dog race
Greyhounds chase the lure around a floodlit stadium at night. It's fast, loud and over in seconds.
🐦 Sky race
Colourful birds fly through giant rings high above the farmland, past hot-air balloons, and the winner celebrates with a loop-the-loop.
🐢 Turtle dash
Baby turtles race across the sand into the sea while beach-goers cheer. Perfect for classrooms and younger kids.
How a name race works
- Paste your names. Each one gets a numbered lane and a runner in its own colour.
- Set the race length with the seconds slider (3 to 30 seconds).
- Press Start. 3, 2, 1, GO! The leaderboard follows the top three, and the camera moves to the finish line for the photo finish.
- The winner celebrates: horses rear up, dogs jump, birds loop and turtles spin, and the runners-up are shown too.

Fair, even though it looks wild
The winner is drawn with a cryptographically secure random number before the starting gun, and every name has the same chance. The race is choreographed to reveal that result, with lead changes along the way, so it's as fair as drawing from a hat, just a lot more fun to watch. Read how the draw works.
Questions
Is the race fair?
Yes. The winner is drawn fairly before the starting gun, with the same cryptographic random draw as every other mode. The race is choreographed so that name crosses the line first, so the result is random and the race is still exciting to watch.
How many names can race?
There is no hard limit; every name gets its own lane. Up to about 15 names is easiest to follow on screen, and bigger lists still work.
Can I change how long the race takes?
Yes. Use the seconds slider to set anything from 3 to 30 seconds before you press Start.
